While heat waves and more intense storms have been directly linked to a warming Earth, some research has drawn connections between extreme weather events and an Arctic that’s warming twice as fast as the rest of the planet. In this video Jennifer Francis, a senior researcher with the Woods Hole Research Center and member of the Arctic Basecamp team, explains how Arctic change may be driving these costly and deadly extreme weather events
